Tokyo (dpa) – Archer An San made it two golds in as many days at the Tokyo Games as part of a South Korean team that continued the nation’s unbeaten run in the Olympic women’s team event.
An, 20, won the inaugural mixed team gold on Saturday with Kim Je Deok and on Sunday teamed up with Kang Chae Young and Jang Minhee to cruise 6-0 over the Russian Olympic Committee team in the final at Yumenoshima Park.
The Russian team included Svetlana Gomboeva, who had collapsed during Saturday’s ranking round in intense heat and humidity.
Germany took bronze, 5-1 against Belarus.
South Korea have won every women’s team event since its debut 1988 in Seoul. The superpower in the sport is aiming to sweep all five Tokyo golds, after winning all events for the first time 2016 in Rio.
“It is an honour to show archery of Korea is the best,” Kang said.
